The original kitchen, while functional and clean, felt uninspired and a bit dated. The off-white, antiqued cabinetry and beige backsplash blended into a monotonous tone, while the heavily patterned granite countertops and wrought iron chandelier seemed to compete for attention.
Though the space was spacious and well-lit, it was begging for a fresh perspective to make it feel cohesive, modern, and full of life.
After: Sleek Sophistication Meets Timeless Style
We completely modernized the space while keeping its timeless charm.
The cabinetry was well made and in great condition, so instead of replacing it all, we opted to have the cabinetry painted a brighter white.
Bright white cabinetry and a soft, glossy Zelige tile backsplash now bounce light beautifully throughout the room, creating a fresh and airy feel.
We replaced the busy, relatively dated granite countertops with smooth, dark green leathered granite that adds a refined contrast while maintaining elegance.
The most striking change is the addition of a bold black custom range hood, which serves as a focal point and introduces a touch of contemporary drama.
Paired with minimalist brass hardware and sleek light fixtures, the space feels polished and current.
We simplified the decor to include subtle textures, natural accents, and soft metallic touches, which enhance the kitchen’s functionality and beauty. With these thoughtful updates, the kitchen is now a perfect blend of modern sophistication and timeless design.
