Before: Understated Traditional Elegance
We took this Bentleyville, OH, dining room from plain to dramatic!
The original dining room, while functional, lacked a clear identity. The pale greenish walls and lace curtains felt dated, and the traditional wood dining set, though well-crafted, blended into the room without making much of a statement. The chandelier, while serviceable, lacked the wow factor needed to elevate the space.
The overall design leaned heavily on safe, traditional choices, resulting in a room that felt more ordinary than inspiring. It served its purpose but didn’t spark excitement or reflect the bold style the space deserved. Most importantly, it didn’t reflect our clients’ bold personalities!
After: Bold Glamour and Sophistication
We completely transformed this dining room into a bold, glamorous statement space. The walls are now adorned with rich, dark wallpaper featuring intricate patterns that instantly elevate the room’s ambiance. To complement the dramatic walls, we extended the design upward with more wallpaper, this time with a striking, shimmering starburst design, creating a sense of luxury and cohesion.
We kept the original dining furniture but gave it a fresh twist by updating the chair upholstery with playful leopard-print fabric. Against the moody backdrop, the traditional wood tones of the table and chairs feel richer and more vibrant. To add a touch of sparkle, we swapped out the old light fixture for a stunning chandelier with cascading glass accents. It’s now the room’s crown jewel.
We replaced the lace curtains with dramatic custom panels in a black and white design. With so much pattern going on nearby, we kept the drapes relatively simple for balance.
To ground the space, we introduced a sleek black area rug with a geometric pattern, which adds texture and ties the room together.
For the finishing touches, we layered in metallic accents through a gilded mirror, modern lamps, and decorative accessories. These elements reflect light beautifully and add depth to the design.
This dining room is no longer just a place to eat; it’s a show-stopping space that exudes sophistication and personality. We created a room where traditional meets contemporary in a way that feels both timeless and uniquely ours.
