Not every home needs a full rebuild to feel brand new. Sometimes, all it needs is a fresh perspective, a thoughtful plan, and a team that knows how to bring out its best features. Sleek Harmony is the perfect example of how a dated home — dark floors, tired finishes, and rooms that never lived up to their potential — can become a stylish, welcoming sanctuary with the right design approach.
In collaboration Anthony Slabaugh Remodeling & Design, we transformed this house into a warm, inviting, personality-filled home. What began as a series of builder-basic spaces has become a cohesive story of comfort, craftsmanship, and layered style.
Dining Room: From Dark & Underwhelming to Bright & Gather-Ready

Before:
Dark flooring, gray walls, and minimal lighting made the dining room feel stark and uninviting. Even with all those beautiful windows, the space struggled to feel open or comfortable.
After:
The dining room now sings with warmth and personality. Soft herringbone floors brighten the space immediately. Custom drapery adds movement and color, while a generous table surrounded by mixed upholstery invites friends and family to settle in. The new chandelier ties it all together with modern elegance. What was once a bare room is now a meaningful gathering place.

Kitchen: From Outdated to a Sophisticated Showpiece

Before:
The kitchen was functional but visually dated, with cream cabinets, a dark floor that felt heavy, and finishes that lacked modern appeal.
After:
Rich charcoal cabinetry, a warm wood island, and a custom hood breathe new life into the space. The herringbone tile backsplash adds depth without overwhelming the room. New lighting and thoughtful seating elevate the kitchen from “perfectly fine” to “absolutely stunning.” This is now a kitchen made for hosting, cooking, and connecting.

Family Room: From Sparse & Disconnected to a Comfortable, Cohesive Retreat

Before:
The family room had scale — tall ceilings, big windows, a statement fireplace — but it lacked softness and cohesion. The dark floor weighed the space down, and the room felt visually cold despite its size.
After:
Now, the family room is the definition of inviting. New herringbone flooring instantly freshened the space and helped tie it into the rest of the home. Our clients already had the furniture, so we used those pieces as our inspiration for the window treatments. Because the narrow windows were so close to the fireplace, regular long drapery panels would have felt super crowded. We opted for a mixed approach, combining soft valances with longer drapery on the wide window.

The fireplace wall remains a focal point, but now it feels like part of a larger, balanced design story. This is a room meant for movie nights, casual conversation, and everyday comfort.
Office / Bar Room: From an Awkward Desk Nook to a Handsome Beverage Hub

Before:
This space originally served as an awkward corner desk area with mismatched granite, dinged flooring, and outdated wallpaper. It was neither functional nor attractive — just a catchall spot for electronics and clutter.
After:
Now, it’s one of the most dramatic transformations in the home. We reimagined the space as a cozy office and fully outfitted bar area, complete with rich wood cabinetry, glass-front storage, floating display shelves, and integrated appliances. The moody wall color, elevated lighting, and warm textures create the perfect backdrop for late-night cocktails, morning espresso, or working from home in style. It’s sophisticated, cozy, and utterly transformative.

Powder Room: From Plain to Unforgettable

Before:
A pedestal sink, simple wallpaper, and little personality left the powder room feeling flat and forgettable.
After:
A vibrant blue patterned wallpaper transforms the small space into a statement moment. A new vanity with a dramatic stone counter and brass accents gives the room the presence it was missing. The new vanity also offers much-needed practical storage to the room! Now, it’s a jewel-box bathroom that surprises and delights guests.
A Home Brought Back to Life
Sleek Harmony is more than just a renovation — it’s a reimagining. By replacing heavy finishes with lighter, softer materials, introducing color with intention, and enhancing functionality in every room, we created a home that feels cohesive, fresh, and deeply personal.
It’s a reminder that you don’t need to start from scratch to love where you live. Sometimes, you simply need a design team who can help you see the harmony hiding beneath the surface.
