Before the transformation, the main floor of this Copley, Ohio home felt understated and disconnected — functional, but missing the layered character and visual richness our clients craved. The bones were there, but the rooms lacked definition, warmth, and a sense of intention. Our goal with this transformation was to infuse the home with depth and drama while maintaining livability, balance, and timeless appeal.
Through thoughtful design and meticulous detailing, we transformed the dining room, living room, and office into richly layered spaces that feel both refined and inviting.
Dining Room: Framed in Elegance
In the dining room, we introduced architectural woodwork to create structure and presence. Custom millwork now frames the space, instantly elevating the room and giving it a sense of permanence. We painted the walls a deep, rich plum, allowing light to dance across the walls and adding a quiet drama that feels luxurious rather than loud. Custom window treatments with a gorgeous beaded trim soften the room, grounding the bold design elements while enhancing the overall warmth and intimacy of the space.
Living Room: Texture Meets Tailored Comfort
We anchored the space with a deeply textured, dark accent wall that immediately draws the eye and creates a dramatic backdrop for the fireplace. We created this custom wood mantel that introduces warmth and craftsmanship, while the geometric tile surround adds subtle pattern and a hint of sheen—just enough contrast to elevate the moment without overpowering it.
Natural light pours in through the large front windows, softened by tailored window treatments that filter light while maintaining privacy. Plush, sculptural seating in light, tactile fabrics offsets the darker elements, creating a layered interplay of light and shadow.
Every element works together to create a living room that feels intimate yet open—designed for conversation, comfort, and quiet impact. It’s a space where texture does the talking and drama lives in the details.
Office: A Space Designed to Inspire
For the main-floor office, we leaned fully into mood and craftsmanship. We closed off the entry between the family room and the office for more privacy and added a sliding door to the other wall in between the foyer and office (not photographed). We then used the newly closed off wall to add custom cabinetry that brings both beauty and purpose. The wood detailing adds warmth and architectural interest. Two different wallpapers introduce pattern and personality, transforming the office from a purely functional room into a space that inspires focus and creativity. The layered textures create an environment that feels grounded, elevated, and deeply personal.
The After: A Home with Depth and Drama
After the transformation, the main floor tells a cohesive story — one rooted in craftsmanship, texture, and thoughtful design. Layers of woodwork, cabinetry, custom window treatments, and wallpaper work in harmony to give the home a sense of richness and identity it previously lacked.
